The contrebandiers race, pioneer in combining MTV and Trail running, facing each other in teams and crossing the Pyrenees between slopes, will take place between the Sobrarbe region (Spain) and the Aure and Louron valleys (France).
After the first experience last year that left a great feeling and good atmosphere among participants and organization, is working on its second edition to be held between 1 and 2 July, the registrations were opened last February 14 through its website offering a route with new features and if possible “more epic” than in 2022.
The trails of the Sobrarbe region and the Aure Valley have been joined by those of the French Louron Valley.
The race, which combines mountain biking and trail running, will start in Ainsa and will end its first day in Loudenvielle. The following day it will leave the town of Arreau to reach the square in Boltaña.
As a novelty with respect to 2022, in addition to the possibility of completing the Contrebandier in pairs or in teams of four, the possibility has been added of doing it in groups of three who will compete in the categories of male, female or mixed.
A total of 8 completely new stages, with higher peaks than in the previous edition and more enduro MTB sections that will be revealed in their entirety as the date of the event approaches.
The event is organised by Zona Zero Pirineos on the Spanish side and Transpyros and Luchon Louron Cyclisme on the French side, with the collaboration of all the town councils through which the event takes place. An event that, beyond the purely sporting aspect, aims to reinforce the coexistence between two nearby territories, each on two different sides of the Pyrenean massif, which have helped and collaborated at different times in history. Between each stage, there will be musical entertainment and culinary specialities from both sides of the border will be enjoyed.
The Hotel Sánchez is once again collaborating in this new edition.
